Enter to win a Microwave S'Mores Maker for Smores Anytime!

Imagine! S'mores -- at home -- without the flaming marshmallows, the campfire, or the folded-out metal hangers.

OK, we admit it, campfire s'mores are fun, but up until now they've been a bit hard to make on-demand. Microwave Smores are a tasty (and often cleaner!) substitue for the campfire variety, and with the Microwave S'Mores Maker, it easy to make them right, with minimal mess and clean-up.

The secret to the Microwave S'Mores Maker is its water reservoir and "arms" that work together to keep the marshmallow moist and under control while cooking. Without the S'mores Maker, microwaved S'mores tend to get rubbery and the marshmallow can expand to surprising proportions.
  • The Microwave S'mores Maker makes 2 Smores at in about 30 seconds.
  • Measures approx 7" square and 4" tall.
  • Microwave and dishwasher-safe

Patriotic Paper Chain

Kids love to make paper chains, they are so easy and can be truly spectacular to a little person! :) Traditional instructions say to use a stapler, but we suggest using a glue stick. It works just as quickly as a stapler, is easier to use than tape, and you won't be worried about any sharp objects.

Make this patriotic paper chain craft, or try out some of our other 4th of July crafts!

This Week's Crafts, Music, Activities & More

Valentine's Day is right around the corner! Today I've gathered some fun ideas for this heart-filled holiday.

Previously I mentioned a question that had been posted on our message boards. I found out later that our new upgrade was preventing new registrations. That has been corrected, so I am reposting the question in hopes that some of you will come to this reader's aid! :)

Random Acts of Kindness
The week of Feb. 15 is Random Acts of Kindness Week. For my preschool class we want to do some ACTS with the kids. We've already decided to make valentines to send to area nursing homes and Send Thank Yous to members of the community. We're thinking about doing a cookie give away where we give two bags of cookies to a person with instructions to keep one bag for themselves and give the other bag to someone else.

Does anyone have any other ideas that preschool age children would be able to do and understand?

Anyone have any fun finger plays, songs, crafts, or activities for this holiday?

11 year old birthday
Last year when Dominic turned 10, I took him and a few of his friends to the movies. They spent more time going to the bathroom, chatting, and playing with their handheld games under their jackets than they did watching the movie! UGH Dominic's birthday is at the end of the month and he wanted me to take them to the movies again. I told him no, even though he swore no one would bring games. LOL He wanted to go see Avatar. Well i just saw Avatar, it's an excellent movie and I am sure they would enjoy it, but it's very long. I don't think they can sit through it.

The boys are very athletic, they like to play sports, etc, but it's very cold outside, lots of snow and ice, so outdoors is probably not an option.

Anyone have any ideas? I wonder if I could find an open gym somewhere??

See you next week!
